What a Creep!

I can't believe that there are sick people like this walking our streets. Ugh. I am totally disgusted...not by the act of drinking urine (that is just gross in itself), but by the sick and perverse people in this world and how they use our children to satisfy their desires. This was on the news tonight.

DUBLIN, Ohio — A convicted sex offender faces charges after he allegedly hid inside public restrooms as part of an attempt to obtain and drink boys’ urine.

According to police, Alan Patton was dicovered trying to collect urine inside a men’s restroom at Sports Ohio, located on Cosgray Road, on June 14, 10TV’s Kurt Ludlow reported.

Police said that Patton, 56, had shut off water to the urinals and placed cups inside them. Police subsequently charged Patton with criminal mischief, Ludlow reported.

At the time of his arrest, Patton told officers that “he wasn’t hurting anyone and that he suffers from an illness,” according to a police report.

Patton, who is a registered sex offender, was first arrested in 1994 on charges of voyeurism, Ludlow reported.

After another arrest in 2006, he told Gahanna police that he suffered from urophilia – a sexual fetish involving urine. He also told police that drinking boys’ urine made him feel like he was “ drinking their youth,” Ludlow reported.

He also told police that he had collected as many as 15 “samples” in one night, Ludlow reported.

Judge Carrie Glaeden, the judge who sent Patton to jail for probation violations a few years ago when he refused to get counseling, spoke with 10 Investigates on Monday.

10 Investigates asked Glaeden if she thought Patton was a danger to the public.

“I don’t think his method of operation, at least that I’m aware of, is that he actually touches the children,” Glaeden said. “But if he can’t get what he wants and what he thinks he needs, I don’t know how far he’ll go to get that bodily fluid.”

Patton, who is in custody at the Franklin County Jail, is scheduled to make his next court appearance on July 11.

Patton will not be sentenced to prison because it is not against the law to drink someone’s urine without their permission, Ludlow reported.

Glaeden said she would support a law that would make it a felony to do so.

I just dont want to try it.

This is a frequent picture we see at our dinner table. I think Andrew sat at the table this particular time for about 1 hour. The rule we have in our house is that the kids must try what is on their plate before leaving the table. This particular time, Andrew was refusing to try FRESH pineapple. We are such bad parents for making our kids try pineapple. Back when I was a kid, pineapple was a special treat.

Camping trip 2008

We went on our annual camping trip this past week. The boys LOVE going camping! The place we go to is a KOA up in Michigan. Many of you have asked for details of this campground. You can visit their site here. We love this particular campground because I get to see my family. When we are there, my family likes to stop by for visits. It is a lot of fun. We also love this campground because it is family oriented. Everything is geared around family. They have a great water slide, clean beach area, playground, and a fishing pond. In addition, they have a lot of rental bikes and boats. This year, we stayed in a deluxe cabin. I am pregnant and I need air conditioning, a bathroom, and a shower. Usually we rent a one room cabin without these features. I try to milk the pregnancy thing for all it is worth...besides, it was only 5 dollars extra to have these conveniences (who can pass that deal up?). All and all, we had a fun filled week. Wednesday's weather was a little shaky, but we found something to do. It actually was a nice break in the week to have some down time. We have discovered that we HATE packing up and bringing everything home to sort out. I am still doing laundry...and those of you who know me, know that we despise laundry. H

Here is a recap of the week. The music doesn't really go with the video (I still like the song by Sigur Ros), but this movie maker program doesn't allow me to import my purchased music to the movie. I found that out AFTER I purchased the music. My other program I usually use keeps locking up on me. If anybody feels sorry for me, and feels the need to purchase a Mac for me, I would appreciate it.

Waiting for dad...

This is what I see most of the day...the boys waiting for dad to come home. Since they are on Summer break, their days are a bit longer. I can run around with them all day and *think* I am totally wearing them out, but minutes after resting, they either are asking *WHAT NEXT MOM?* or *WHEN IS DAD COMING HOME?.

Ok, you asked for it...

Aaron and I went out for Ice cream tonight (after a yummy dinner) and I was feeling a little N.E.R.D.Y. I asked him to photograph me (my first actual picture of my belly). This is what a Silly pregnant lady came up with for a pose. (Notice the high heels...I was so proud that I could wear them comfortably)

I am not sure why I love to be nerdy...I just do.

Oh, the progression of big belly photographs WILL get better. I have big plans sista...big plans.

Happy 11th Anniversary

It is hard to believe that Aaron and I have been married 11 years. We are celebrating our Anniversary this evening instead of tomorrow. For those of you who do not know, my mom passed away on our 10th Anniversary (last year). We are just celebrating things a little differently this year. Tomorrow, I will take time to think about my mom and her homegoing to Jesus. Happy Anniversary Aaron. I love you.

hmmm.

I am puzzled by what I woke up to this morning. I still do not know what to think of it. At 5:00 a.m., I was in this "in and out" kind of sleep. I faintly smelled my mom's perfume she use to wear (Liz Claiborne's White Diamonds). I then heard her voice say, as she cupped my belly (I didn't physically feel her touch)and said a blessing over the baby "May this baby bring joy and happiness to this family". Then she kissed my belly 4 times as making the sign of the cross and said "in the name of the Father, and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen". That was it. I felt the warmth of her body during this whole dream. I am still sorting out what happened. I woke up frantically crying because it was a good dream, but I was still a little frightened because IT WAS VERY REAL. I have had realistic dreams in the past, but it was more real because of the senses it stimulated. I smelled her, I felt her warm breath, and I heard her. I woke Aaron up with my crying and ended up going outside on the deck for about an hour to calm myself down. I feel like this may have been a dream from the Lord to provide comfort to me as the one year of my mom's death approaches.

Meet my dad...

I am going to write a post about my dad. Many times, we reflect on the special people in our lives after they have left us. Then, it is too late. While they are still with us, they should be hearing of the ways they have changed our lives. There are many things I have told my mom that I am so glad she was able to hear through the years. I guess you can call me a mushy person deep down. There are things I I didn't realize until after she passed away that I wish she would have known. So, if you have a person in your life that has made a difference, I encourage you to let them know how very special they are to you before it is too late. So, let me introduce you to my dad. Through the years, I have seen my dad become a more tender-hearted and compassionate person. I know we "ripen" with age, and I sure hope that I ripen and become a better person as I experience life. I have met many older folks that actually "sour" as they get older. My dad has showed me that you should only become a better person with age and let the experiences in your life enhance the person who you are. My dad has always lent a ear when I needed to talk. In the past year, we have had some great discussions about life, changes, and the future.
I have always been able to open my heart up to him without feeling like he would shut me out. He has become a good friend through the years. Many people can say that about mom-daughter or son-father relationships. This holds very true for my daughter-daddy relationship between us.

I am so thankful that my kiddos have had the opportunity to know and experience the love of my dad. They know grandpa as the guy who likes to snuggle and the guy who is the great magician. They also know grandpa as the man who knows a lot of stuff. He always has an answer for everything...even if it is a tall tale. My dad introduced the boys to a fish called Ol' Charlie. Don't ya know that every lake/pond has a great big catfish (like 50 pounds in my kids minds) with foot long whiskers and a huge tail? They still try to capture Ol' Charlie cause Grandpa said that there is one in every lake! He is quite the story teller.

There are many things I can tell you about my dad. He reads this blog daily and will sometimes comment on my posts. Dad, I hope when you read this, you REALLY know how much you mean to me and my family. You can never be replaced...you are one of a kind. Your life has seeped integrity and continues to overflow with love...into the bucket of others. I am glad mine has been full for a long time. Happy Father's Day
Daddy!

Here is a Father's Day videoI put together for my dad a few year's back. This is my dad...

I thought I have seen it all...

Owen loves anything to do with the potty. He laughs at the word "diaper", he laughs when there is a turd in the toilet (that didn't make it down), he laughs when I buy toilet paper, and he thinks "toilet" sounds like a silly word. I think you get the idea.
Anyway, I gave the boys each a dollar to spend at the store yesterday. This is what Owen found. It is a miniature toilet filled with sugar crystals. To top it off, there are these suckers shaped like plungers that you lick and then dip. I thought I saw it all in regards to candy...I guess I was wrong. What will they think of next?

I'm up EARLY

Wanna know what really makes me mad? Well, I am going to tell ya. When I was 32, I could sleep in until mid morning. Now that I am 33, my internal clock continues to wake me up every morning at 7:00 am. ugh. School is out, and I was hoping to sleep in a little bit. Old age is killing me.

Elliott's Nursery

Finally! Elliott (Oh yeah, that is the baby's name by the way) officially has his own room. Andrew and Owen have been roommates for about 2 months and everything in this entire house has been stored in the baby room until last weekend. I took 9 black trash bags...yes, I said 9 black trash bags of stuff to the donation center this past week. Elliott's room is now starting to take shape. Most of it was "stuff" I have been saving for a garage sale. I decided against the garage sale because they are way too much work.
Because we loved this "Transportation" room so much, we kept it the same. I have added a couple of new colors to the murals that I painted (along with some friends)6 years ago. This use to be Andrew's room, then Owen's room...now Elliott's room. We found a bedding set that matches perfectly...I found it on EBAY. Here it is at Target online. I did have to add the color Green to some of the murals to help it match the bedding.

Here is the progress so far...
I found this lamp at a garage sale. I am so glad I bought it...my $5 deal!

Here is the new and improved hauling truck on the wall...

Some more wall...

The new Valence...

And finally, the changing table. It use to be a shelf from a store. I Purchased it a Garage sale for $1 a few years back. It is made of metal and the shelves are adjustable. I made a changing table out of it since we were no longer using it as a toy shelf. When we are done with the changing table, it will be a toy shelf again! (notice the really cool sailboat baskets...I got a fabulous deal on them..$2.50 NEW on CLEARANCE!!)

I hope he likes his room. The cats sure do.

Summer is HERE!

Yes...I am a blogging fool lately. Life has been fun!

One of our favorite dishes of the summer are Shish-ka-bobs. I am not usually one for using leftovers to create other meals It was soooo nice not to have to go to the store and purchase anything for our meal tonight. Why the heck am I blogging this? I don't know. I guess I wanted to tempt my dad who lives in Michigan. In our family, when you mention a dish, someone else usually has the same dish within a couple of days. Anyway, we used all of the leftover meats, sauces, and veggies from our fondue get together earlier in the week. It was nice to grill out, watch the boys on their humongous water slide and eat sno-cones.

Owen told me later "Mom, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE Summer".

Meet the BOBS...
Step 1-Preparation of the meat (Don't you just love our new canisters in the back)

Step 2-Preparing the veggies

Step 3-The Grilling (We really need a new grill...seriously, it caught fire)

Step 4-The sauce (roasted red pepper and chipoltle)
\
Step 5-The feast

School's out, school's out...teachers let the monkeys out!

(Judy's current mood...calm)
It is official. The school year has ended. No more awards ceremonies, no more graduations, no more driving all over town. Wait, did I say no more driving around?
(Judy's current mood...freaking out)
How am I going to keep two rambunctious boys entertained? Should I be relieved that school is out, or should I be dreading the summer and the busyness? Sigh.
(Judy's current mood...frantic)
Time to go and get the schedules at all of the Parks and Recreation centers, library's, movie theatres, art centers, and metro parks. Summer break (or not so break) has begun.

Owen's preschool graduation picture. I did these for all of his classmates. They reminded me of little professors.

My boys are growing up...

Today, Andrew had a big day at school. He had his awards ceremony and visited his upcoming 2nd grade classroom. He received a trophy for being on the honor roll all year long. It is really funny because there is a story that goes with this trophy...it involves a little friendly competition between he and Owen. You see, the boys are always trying to "one up" each other with their trophies. For some reason, they just think that establishes their status as the best. I am not really sure what goes on in their little minds. Anyway, Owen received a trophy on Sunday for soccer. He was "one up" on Andrew and mentioned something to the effect that "no more trophies will be given out for a while Andrew". So, in Owen's little head, he would ultimately keep the sibling title of "better than you" until at least next soccer season. Well, we were not expecting a trophy for honor roll today. When Andrew's name was called up to receive his award, Owen had the goofiest face you would ever see on a kid. I whispered to him that he should be happy for his brother. Well, Andrew came gleaming over to show his trophy to Owen. He didn't mention that they were now even...until 15 minutes later.
We came home and I was cleaning up the house and noticed all of the trophies in the bathroom. Andrew's trophies were in one pile and Owens trophies were in another pile. In the middle of the 2 piles was a scale...Owen had put the piles of trophies on the scale to see if his weighed more. OWEN WAS DETERMINED TO KEEP THE TITLE. Sure enough, Owen remains to keep the "better than you" status because his trophies weighed more. Little does he know that he forgot to weigh one of Andrew's trophies.

Date Morning with Owen...

When Owen starts Kindergarten in September, I am going to miss our weekly date mornings at Krispy Kreme and at the different Coffee shops in the Columbus area. Boo Hoo. I think he feels the same way. He is a sweetie.

Mommy's little helper...

My ever so cool 71 year old mom almost decked another Goodwill customer to get this bike for me. I guess my mom was in line ready to pay for it, and this other customer was "eyeing" it. She made it very clear that it was HER bike.

Anyway, it has a big seat for bigger booty's like yours truly. I purchased a little bell for it today. We store our bikes down in the basement during the winter months. Owen had a super idea to wash all of the bikes so we can go for a bike ride tomorrow. He is my little helper. I can't wait to go for a ride when it is all shiny and sparkly.
